KibbieKabin Cabin Rentals are cedar log cabins nestled in the dense woods near Oblong, IL of Crawford County in Southeast Central Illinois. It's more than just a cabin rental.  You will enjoy the picturesque setting overlooking the one-acre pond that is nicely stocked with channel cat, bluegill, redear, hybrid sunfish and bass. This pond offers excellent fishing as well as a refreshing swim. The water is kept clean, and being spring fed, is fresh and cool even in the sweltering summer days. It is located on a tract of 130 acres of land that includes a variety of terrains. It consists of 80 acres of woodland, 34 acres of cropland, and 16 acres of grasslands, parts being creek bottom. This offers the best habitat possible for great whitetail deer hunting! Not only is there good deer hunting but there is also an abundance of wild turkey. This beautiful forest is woven with miles of mowed trails for hiking or access to your game.  Convienience is a plus as your cabin rental is located right where your hunt will be.

Don't let winter keep you from visiting our cabin rental!  The woods is a spectacular sight after a fresh snow.  February is a great time for looking for deer sheds.  Don't forget your fishin' pole and auger for some great ice fishing.  Blue gill are delicious coming out of the cold water.  In the spring you might want to bring your rubber boots but it is well worth seeing the forest come back to life!  Wild flowers canvas the ground and you'll probably get a visit from some migratory fowl returning to their summer home.  Of course the heat of the summer months bring about the opportunity to play hard at any of your favorite past times, take a splash in one of the ponds, lay out and soak up some rays or just relax and watch the many varieties of birds.  Bring your camera and get some great shots of the hummingbirds suspended in midair as they extract the nectar.  And then there is the splendor of fall with all the many brilliant colors that can send you into a hypnotic trance.  Any season is a great time to get away to your cabin rental in eastern southern Illinois.  Rest, reflect and enjoy the life you deserve!

Currently we have three facilities to choose from for your cabin rental. Both are very similar in style and amenities but mostly differ in size.  The aroma is relaxing while you rest in front of the gas fireplace. As well as the fireplace they also have air conditioning. There is plenty of hot water for your shower or doing the dishes. Turkey Roost, the smaller cabin,sleeps four with two in the loft and two on the sofa sleeper. The larger cabin, Buck Rub, can sleep 8 people with 2 in a bed, 2 on the sofa sleeper and two in twin beds in each of the spacious lofts. Fox Den Cabin is the largest of the three with beds for 10 with 2 full size, 2 twin, twin bunk beds and a queen size in its private bedroom.  Fox Den is being constructed for handycap accessability.  These cabin rentals are furnished with dishes, silverware, cups, glasses, cooking utensils, pots and pans, coffeepot, toaster, stove, microwave, refrigerator, towels, toilet paper, paper towels and bedding.  Settling down in the evening is easy while you watch one of the satellite TV channels which includes the locals.    Some books and magazines are supplied. Provided outside are large front porches, picnic tables, fire pits with grill and gas grills.  Firewood my be purchased for a nominal fee.  You are permitted to bring your own firewood if the wood comes from within Illinois due to the cronic problem of the Emerald Ash Borer.  We want your cabin rental to be comfortable and memorable!

All cabin rentals are non-smoking facilities.  Please help us preserve the fresh cedar scent by observing this.  Smoking is allowed outdoors and ashtrays are provided on the front porches.  Also, pets are not allowed.   

Construction has been slow with the huge and frequent amounts of rain this year.  Our log reception hall is underway, though, and the walls should be going up by mid August 2010.  We have a parking lot laid down that should handle 75 or more cars and plenty of other additional parking will be available.  A large stationary dock extends 44 feet out in the water. It has a 5 foot wide approach to the 12 X 16 deck out in the water.  This offers a beautiful place to take your vows if you want an outdoor wedding. This is a unprecedented setting for your wedding and reception, family reunions, Christmas partys or any kind of function.  It will be a great place for your company's Christmas party or event.  It will be the "out of the office" place for meetings or conferences.  Tables and chairs will be funished for approximately 250 people.  The Hall will have two restrooms and a kitchen area and will be climate controled year round.  It will offer a beautiful view of our newest pond enveloped by the big timber of the forest. Your caterer and beverages are welcome, it's your party!
